Ruth Amsbaugh has served as Pastoral Counselor for Radiant Church since 2013. A Master’s degree graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, California, in Theology, Marriage and Family Ministries, Ruth is a veteran counselor in community mental health and private practice. Ruth was a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wyoming until 2012, when she and her family moved to Lincoln. Her extensive counseling background includes domestic violence, sexual, substance abuse, and trauma; issues in family and individual therapy, and Biblically based counseling. Her cross-cultural experience includes working as a counselor and educator with American Indians; short-term missions in Colombia, Mexico, and Costa Rica, hosting exchange students, and adopting their two youngest children from Bogotá, Colombia, in 2003. Ruth also holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership from the University of Wyoming, 2011.
Since being invited to serve as a counselor at Radiant Church, she has also been a leader in developing the Radiant Church prayer ministry team in areas of inner healing. Ruth has a gifting that often includes prophetic insight. She longs to see the Lord Jesus exalted in worship, as well as connecting individuals of all sectors to the profound love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her heart’s passion is to partner with the Holy Spirit as He leads, exchanging “a crown of beauty for ashes” (Isaiah 61:3). Along with her husband Neil of 40+ years, Ruth has five adult children and three grandchildren. To God be the glory, for the things He has done!
